Introduction
Behind every great YouTube video is a thumbnail engineered to earn the click. Studying high-performing thumbnails, the ones with bold typography, clean color palettes, and unmistakable focal points, is one of the fastest ways to level up your own channel. The SavDown YouTube Thumbnail Downloader makes that study effortless: paste any YouTube URL and we pull every available thumbnail resolution, from 120×90 SD all the way up to 1280×720 Max-Res, ready to save with a single click. The tool works on every public video on the platform, including the ones with the most polished cover art, and it is free forever.

What This Tool Does
When you paste a YouTube video URL, the tool extracts the four standard thumbnail assets YouTube generates for every upload: SD (120×90), MQ (320×180), HQ (480×360), and MaxRes (1280×720, when the video is old enough for YouTube to have generated the high-res variant). Each resolution is shown side-by-side with its actual dimensions and file size, so you can grab the right one for the right purpose, a small image for a slide deck or the full MaxRes JPG for design study. The downloads are real JPGs pulled from the public thumbnail CDN, so you get the actual asset the uploader published, with no re-compression.
